Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

The final day – filled with joy and sadness together. At breakfast, we sang “You Said” like we did on Monday bookending our worship times with the amazing words, “Ask and I’ll give the nations to you” which truly is the cry of our hearts.

We were excited to spend another morning at Oasis. First we asked the kids to write letters to their sponsors. I was elated when Pablo wrote a letter to me! Next there was a Tae-Kwon Do demonstration for the kids with included Nena breaking a board! [see picture below] The kids really enjoyed this. Our morning concluded with a trash collecting contest. Isaias helped me out a lot during this. Before a wonderful lunch I was able to get some time with Jose Daniel. Pablo enjoyed taking pictures with my camera; indeed between him and Isaias they probably took more pictures than I did.

After lunch we took a prayer walk around the wall at Oasis. It is amazing to look at all God has done through Heritage for this place and these kids. Knowing I am now a part of that “heritage” is humbling and amazing. A. and B.painted our names on the wall along with “You said Your glory will fill the earth. I’ve been waiting for years to be able to put my name on that wall. Praise God that he called me!

To our joy the Oasis kids came with us for the afternoon ministry time. On the bus Pablo and I had the conversation I’d been prating and dreaming about, the details of which are between Pablo and me.

The plan was to have the Oasis kids help deliver food and the gospel to a few poor families on Pastor Giovanny’s heart. First a few of us took Levi’s truck into town to buy food. I thought I was going to puke because of his driving! After we got back some people sorted the food while Pablo, Harrison, Isaias, and I watched Smallville in my room. When we arrived at the homes we split up into groups. I can't remember exactly who was in my group because it was somewhat large. People in the first two house accepted Christ, but no one did in the third. I’m glad we had the chance to serve with the Oasis kids and expose them to more of the realities of the world. Here's a picture of one of the families.

When we got back to the hotel, it was time to start saying goodbye to the Oasis kids for the final time. This was very sad. I did get a hug from Jose Daniel, even though he shook his head and grinned the first time I asked. I told Pablo to follow his dreams, affirmed him, and gave him a huge hug. It was so sad to see them go. I was dreading this part of the trip since the beginning. G. and I prayed after they left. After dinner I went to my room to pack. I soon took out my guitar and started worshipping. After a few songs I landed on “Jesus loves me”. I played it over and over again, each time thinking more and more about what I was singing and picturing the kids from the week in my head. It is truly amazing that God loves all these kids – the ones the world doesn’t care about. “Little ones to him belong – they are weak, but He is strong.” I prayed for God to bless, protect, and love them.

It was beginning to storm and we had another Honduran downpour with an amazing lightning backdrop. The electricity flickered a number of times. I didn’t want the week to end. I was in bed by 10:30.
